We are incredibly proud to announce that seven students from The Henley College have received offers to study at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. This is a fantastic achievement and reflects their hard work, dedication, and the support of our staff.
Pictured with our Principal, Simon Spearman, are four of our successful students:
Madeleine Welch – Cambridge University (Human, Social and Political Sciences)
"I am really excited about the prospect of going to Cambridge. When I visited on the open day, I thought it was such a beautiful place and attending their summer school was an amazing experience. I would never have known about it without the support of Dr Joanna Atkinson, our Oxbridge coordinator. I had two face to face interviews at Trinity College and really enjoyed them. Now I need to focus on getting the grades."
Jack Seymour – Cambridge University (Computer Science)
"I have always wanted to go to Cambridge, so I am really excited to receive an offer. I know I have to work hard, but I am looking forward to the challenge."
Julia Saladyk – Oxford University (Archaeology and Anthropology)
"It is a little nerve wracking knowing I need to meet the grade requirements, but I am so proud of my offer. I had two online interviews which I prepared for and I am really looking forward to studying archaeology and anthropology at Oxford. The support from Dr Atkinson was so helpful throughout the process."
Maurie Bish Groucott – Oxford University (Engineering)
"I first thought about applying after taking part in the Chemistry Race at Oxford through the College. I don’t think I could have done this without the encouragement and support of my subject teachers at The Henley College."
This success is supported by The Henley College Aspire Programme, designed to challenge and develop gifted and highly motivated students, preparing them for top universities and future career opportunities. Aspire students follow a tailored programme, including the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), specialist tutor groups, and one-to-one support for Oxbridge, Russell Group, and Sutton 30 applications. They also develop higher level skills through the Skills Builder framework to strengthen their university and career prospects.
The Aspire Programme is going from strength to strength, providing students with the best possible opportunities.
