Cost and Fees

TUITION FEES

There are no tuition fees for 16-18 year old students who satisfy any of the following criteria:

  • Have been ordinarily resident in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the past 3 years or more, and whose main purpose for such residence was not to receive full-time education.
  • 16-18 year olds accompanying parents who have the Right of Abode or leave to enter or remain in the UK.
  • 16-18 year olds entering the UK (where not accompanied by their parents) who hold full British Citizen passports, or whose passports have been endorsed to show they have the Right of Abode in this country.
  • Have recently settled status, i.e. those with indefinite leave to enter or remain, Right of Abode or British Citizenship within the three years immediately preceding the start of the course.

TEXTBOOKS, EQUIPMENT & TRIPS

There are some areas where students may need to buy textbooks, specialist equipment or attend a compulsory trip.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Discretionary Bursaries may be available to enrolled students who meet the eligibility criteria and can help to cover costs including transport. Applications for support are means-tested and  further details can be found on the Bursary Fund page. 

EXAMINATION OR COURSE REGISTRATION FEES

The College will pay examination and course registration fees for full time 16-18 students' approved official entries. Full-time students aged 19+ who pay tuition fees are asked to pay the full cost of their examination and course registration fees. All students are liable for payment of the full cost of re-sit examinations.

ADVANCED LEARNER LOANS

You may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan.  Most learners aged 19 and over, studying at Level 3 to 6, will qualify for these loans from the UK Government.  It's easy to apply, your household income isn't taken into account and there's no credit check.  You won't have to pay anything back until your income is over £21,000 a year.
