New Student Welcome Days 2024

Greetings New Students,

Welcome to The Henley College! Below, you'll find a copy of the email that has been sent to all new students regarding your upcoming New Student Welcome Day. This day is a fantastic opportunity to get to know your new environment, connect with classmates, and start your college journey on the right foot. We know that starting somewhere new can be a bit daunting, but don’t worry—everything you need to know is right here, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. Get ready for an exciting start to your time with us!

Dear Student,

Congratulations on securing your place at The Henley College! Your journey towards future success is about to begin, and we’re thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant community.

To help you get started on the right foot, we’re inviting you to our exclusive New Student Welcome Day. Please note that there are separate days for Vocational and A Level students, so it’s important you attend on the correct date:

Vocational Students (to include T Levels, Level 2 and Level 3 Diplomas, both BTEC and UAL):

Date: Friday, 6th September 

Time: 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM 

A Level Students (to include Applied A Levels):

Date: Monday, 9th September 

Time: 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Foundation students will be contacted separately.

Please note: Coaches will depart promptly at 1:45 PM on both days.

Feel free to arrive from 8:30 AM to familiarise yourself with the campus and get settled in. When you arrive, head to the Deanfield Reception, where our welcoming staff will be ready to guide you through the day.

During the Welcome Day, you’ll have the chance to:

- Meet your teachers and Personal Professional Development Tutors, who will support your academic journey

- ​Receive your unique student lanyard

- ​Connect with fellow students and start building friendships that will last throughout your time at college

- Learn about the support available from our Student Welfare and EDI Officers

- Attend an IT access masterclass to ensure you’re fully equipped with the digital tools you’ll need

- You will receive your College Log in and have access to your own personalised timetable tailored to your course

Both of our campus canteens will be open, accepting card and cash payments. You’re also welcome to bring your own packed lunch. After the day’s activities, why not explore the beautiful town of Henley-on-Thames with your new classmates?
