The course covered in the T Level Technical Qualification in Science includes a comprehensive blend of knowledge and practical skills necessary for work in the health and science sector.
Core Component:
Health and Science Sector: Topics include working within the sector, understanding health, safety, and environmental regulations, managing data, ethics, and scientific methodology. ·
Science Concepts: Covering biology, chemistry, and physics concepts, like cell biology, genetics, chemical reactions, energy changes, electricity, and magnetism.
Occupational Specialisms:
Laboratory Sciences: Focuses on performing scientific techniques, planning and improving tasks, and resolving equipment issues.
Employer Involvement:
The course includes an industry placement to help students apply their knowledge and skills in real work settings.
Assessment:
Students are evaluated through written exams, synoptic assignments, and an employer-set project (ESP), ensuring both theoretical knowledge and practical application are tested.
Employment opportunities as a Science Technician or Laboratory Technician. Routes for advancement into higher education or into an apprenticeship.
