COURSE OVERVIEW

This vocational course, equivalent to three A Levels, is designed for students who are serious about pursuing a career in the performing arts. It combines the three core disciplines of acting, dance and singing. Students underpin their practical work with rigorous academic study.

Applicants will be invited to interviews and auditions once the application has been received.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Before You Start

You may be required to complete an activity before you start in order to help introduce you to the subject. Check back in the summer term for more details.

Course Content

It combines the three core disciplines of acting, dance and singing. Students underpin their practical work with rigorous academic study. The department regularly organises theatre visits and students have toured work in the UK and abroad. Workshops are often organised with professional performers, directors and production staff.

Life After Henley

This course is designed for students who want to pursue the subject into higher education and ultimately the profession.

Last year students went on to various destinations including vocational centres at Mountview, London Studio Centre, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Arts Educational Schools London, East 15 Acting School and Rose Bruford. Students also went on to study courses at university including; Bath Spa, Middlesex, Essex, Bournemouth Arts College, Surrey and Chichester.

Alternatively, students may consider direct entry into employment. Students have gone on to work for entertainment and leisure organisations, television networks, theatre companies and to pursue music professionally

Higher Education

This course is designed for students who want to pursue the subject into higher education and ultimately the profession. Students have secured places at institutions including RADA, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Central School of Speech and Drama, Rose Bruford, Mountview Academy, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Laine Theatre Arts, Bird College, Arts Educational and a range of universities.

 

ENRICHMENT

Students are required to complete at least 30 hours of enrichment per academic year whilst studying at The Henley College, learn more about Enrichment here.
