Creative Arts (Foundation Diploma) Level 4

Assessment: Assessed through written and practical means. Pass, Merit or Distinction grade is obtained at the end of the course.

Duration: 1 year
Costs: There will be additional costs – this will be discussed at interview.
Entry Requirements: 1 A Level ( in a creative subject) plus three GCSE grade 4s (including Maths and English).

COURSE OVERVIEW

The course is split into three parts where students will try out different areas of art, graphics and photography.

COURSE STRUCTURE

BEFORE YOU START

You may be required to complete an activity before you start in order to help introduce you to the subject. Check back in the summer term for more details.

COURSE CONTENT

Part 1: Learning Skills and Context

The first eight weeks involve two-weekly rotations which guide students through approaches and processes important in areas of art, media, photography and communication. Students will learn about the creative process, to think outside of boxes, reflect on work that is produced and think analytically and critically about the messages within creative work.

LIFE AFTER HENLEY

The Level 4 UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design provides a transition from general education to specialist art, design and media education. This enables students to make an informed decision when applying to university or seeking employment within a related industry.

ENRICHMENT

Students are required to complete at least 30 hours of enrichment per academic year whilst studying at The Henley College, learn more about Enrichment here.
